Optical counter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007705
An instrument that detects and counts airborne particles by measuring the light scattered or absorbed by individual particles as they pass through a sensing volume. It provides information on particle number concentration and size distribution. Optical counters are widely used for monitoring air quality, studying aerosols, and characterizing cloud condensation nuclei.
