Ice nuclei counter

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006427

An instrument designed to detect and quantify the concentration of ice nuclei in an air sample. These devices typically operate by exposing filtered air to specific temperature and humidity conditions to activate ice-forming particles, which are then counted. Measurements from these counters are used to understand cloud microphysics and the potential for precipitation.
