Ion counter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006639
An instrument designed to measure the concentration of atmospheric ions, both positive and negative. It operates by drawing air through an electric field that separates ions by polarity, which are then collected on an electrode to produce a measurable current. These devices are used to study atmospheric electrical properties and aerosol formation processes.
