Gerdien aspirator

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005960

An instrument designed to measure the electrical conductivity of the atmosphere by collecting charged particles. It draws air through a cylindrical capacitor, where ions are collected on an inner electrode. The current generated by these collected ions is then measured to determine the air's conductivity, providing insights into atmospheric electrical properties.
