Arago distance
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003597
The angular distance from the antisolar point to the Arago neutral point, the spot in the sky above the antisolar point where skylight is unpolarized. The distance depends on the sun's elevation and on the aerosol content of the air, so measuring it serves as an indicator of atmospheric turbidity. The Babinet and Brewster distances play the same role for the neutral points near the sun.
