Voss polariscope
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010072
A type of polariscope, an instrument used to observe and measure the polarization of light, specifically adapted for atmospheric optics. It is designed to study the polarization of skylight, which is partially polarized due to scattering by air molecules and aerosols. The instrument has been used historically to locate neutral points in the sky, such as the Arago, Babinet, and Brewster points, where the light from the sky is unpolarized.
