Atmospheric shell
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003687
A conceptual layer of the Earth's atmosphere, often used to describe distinct regions based on temperature profiles, chemical composition, or electrical properties. These shells are not rigid boundaries but rather zones where certain atmospheric characteristics dominate. Examples include the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, and thermosphere, each with unique meteorological phenomena.
