Layers

Distinct strata or regions within the atmosphere or ocean, characterized by relatively uniform properties or specific gradients of physical parameters. These layers are often separated by transitions where properties change more rapidly. Examples include the troposphere, stratosphere, and the oceanic mixed layer, each with unique thermal and dynamic characteristics.
