Auroral zone

The geographical region on Earth where auroral displays are most frequently and intensely observed, typically corresponding to the area beneath the auroral oval. This zone is located at high latitudes, approximately between 60 and 75 degrees magnetic latitude in both hemispheres. It is where the Earth's magnetic field lines guide charged particles from the solar wind into the upper atmosphere.
