Auroral curtains

A common and visually striking form of aurora, resembling shimmering, folded draperies or curtains of light in the sky. These structures are composed of numerous parallel auroral rays that appear to ripple and move, often displaying vibrant green, pink, or red hues. They are indicative of active auroral displays and are caused by the precipitation of charged particles into the upper atmosphere.
