Bathythermograph grid
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003857
A calibrated transparent overlay, marked with lines representing temperature and depth, used to interpret the smoked-glass slide record from a mechanical bathythermograph. This grid allows for the visual conversion of the stylus trace into a quantitative profile of ocean temperature versus depth. It is placed over the smoked-glass slide to read the recorded data points.
