Benzene

A volatile organic compound (VOC) with the chemical formula C6H6, consisting of a six-carbon ring structure. It is a common atmospheric pollutant emitted from vehicle exhaust, industrial processes, and evaporation of gasoline. Benzene is a known carcinogen and contributes to the formation of ground-level ozone and secondary organic aerosols in the atmosphere.
