Hydroperoxides
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006344
Organic compounds containing the -OOH functional group, formed in the atmosphere through the oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These compounds are intermediate products in atmospheric chemical reactions, particularly in the formation of ozone and secondary organic aerosols. Hydroperoxides are highly reactive and contribute to the oxidizing capacity of the atmosphere, influencing air quality and climate processes.
