Organic acids

A class of organic compounds containing at least one carboxyl group, which are common in the atmosphere. These acids, such as formic acid and acetic acid, are produced from the oxidation of volatile organic compounds and biomass burning. They contribute to atmospheric acidity and can influence cloud formation and precipitation chemistry.
