Ordinate

The vertical coordinate in a two-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system, representing the value along the y-axis. It is used to plot meteorological data, such as temperature or pressure, against another variable like time or altitude. In atmospheric science, the ordinate often represents height or pressure levels in atmospheric profiles.
