Blood rain
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003953
Precipitation that appears reddish due to the presence of dust or sand particles suspended within the raindrops. This phenomenon occurs when strong winds lift fine terrestrial particles into the atmosphere, which are then transported over long distances before being washed out by rain. The color intensity varies depending on the concentration and composition of the airborne dust, often originating from desert regions.
