During the day, the land heats faster than the water, creating a sea breeze (virazon) that flows onshore; at night, the land cools faster, causing a land breeze (terral) to flow offshore. The term is the Spanish word for breeze and is frequently used to describe this phenomenon in Spanish-speaking countries.
