Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004294

An instrument designed to record the precise time of an event or the duration of an interval. In meteorology, chronographs were historically used to mark specific occurrences, such as the start and end of precipitation or changes in atmospheric pressure. Modern electronic data loggers have largely replaced mechanical chronographs for continuous meteorological recording.
