Marvin sunshine recorder

A historical instrument used to measure the duration of bright sunshine, consisting of a bimetallic strip that expands and contracts with temperature changes. This movement causes a pen to trace a line on a rotating drum, indicating when the sun is shining. It was an early method for quantifying solar radiation exposure.
