Marshall-palmer relation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007126
An empirical relationship that describes the distribution of raindrop sizes within a given volume of air. It provides a mathematical formula for the number of raindrops per unit volume per unit diameter interval, typically expressed as an exponential function. This relation is widely used in radar meteorology to estimate rainfall rates from radar reflectivity measurements.
