Charnock's relation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004262
An empirical formula that relates the roughness length of the sea surface to the friction velocity of the wind over the ocean. It accounts for the generation of waves and their influence on the momentum transfer between the atmosphere and the ocean. This relation is often used in numerical weather prediction models to parameterize surface drag over water bodies.
