Chronometric radiosonde
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004295
A type of radiosonde that measures atmospheric parameters by converting sensor readings into time intervals. The changes in resistance or capacitance of meteorological sensors, such as thermistors or hygrometers, modulate the frequency of an oscillator. This frequency is then transmitted as a series of pulses, with the time between pulses encoding the atmospheric data.
