Pulse-time-modulated radiosonde
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008211
A type of radiosonde that transmits atmospheric data by varying the timing or spacing of signal pulses. As the instrument ascends, sensors measure temperature, humidity, and pressure, and this information is encoded into the time intervals between successive radio pulses sent back to a ground station. This contrasts with other radiosondes that might use frequency modulation (FM) or amplitude modulation (AM) to transmit their data.
