Radiosonde system

The integrated collection of components used for upper-air atmospheric sounding, comprising the radiosonde instrument, the weather balloon, and the ground receiving and processing equipment. This system provides vertical profiles of temperature, humidity, pressure, and wind speed and direction. It is a fundamental tool for operational meteorology and atmospheric research.
