Chubasco

A violent squall or thunderstorm that occurs along the west coast of Central America, particularly in Mexico. These events are characterized by sudden onset, strong winds, heavy rainfall, and lightning, often developing during the late afternoon or evening. Chubascos are a localized phenomenon, distinct from broader tropical cyclones, and are a hazard to maritime activities in the region.
