Heat thunderstorm

A type of thunderstorm that forms due to intense surface heating and subsequent convective uplift, rather than from frontal systems or large-scale weather disturbances. These storms are localized and short-lived, developing in the afternoon during warm, humid conditions. They are common in summer over continental landmasses.
