Cloud element

A single, distinct, and observable component of a larger cloud formation, such as an individual cumulus tower within a larger cluster or a specific wisp of a cirrus cloud. These are the smallest recognizable units that constitute a cloud's overall shape, texture, and structure. The size, shape, and arrangement of cloud elements are used in cloud classification according to the World Meteorological Organization's International Cloud Atlas.
