Cloud feedback
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004424
The complex interaction where changes in cloud properties, such as coverage, altitude, or optical depth, either amplify or diminish an initial change in global temperature. This process is a major source of uncertainty in climate models due to the varied radiative effects of different cloud types. Low clouds tend to cool the surface, while high clouds often warm it.
