Cyanometer

An instrument designed to measure the blueness of the sky, typically by comparing the sky's color to a graded series of blue shades. This device provides a subjective assessment of atmospheric turbidity and the amount of scattering by aerosols and molecules. Horace-Bénédict de Saussure invented an early version in the late 18th century.
