Development

The process of growth or intensification of an atmospheric system, such as a cloud, storm, or pressure center. This involves changes in its structure, size, and associated weather phenomena over time. For a thunderstorm, development progresses through cumulus, mature, and dissipating stages, often over a period of 30 to 60 minutes.
