Drift station

A scientific research facility established on a large, stable floe of drift ice, primarily in the Arctic Ocean. These stations allow for continuous, long-term observations of atmospheric, oceanic, and ice conditions as they move with the ice. Data collected includes meteorological parameters, oceanographic profiles, and ice thickness measurements.
