Wind drift
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010249
The horizontal movement of snow, sand, or other loose particulate matter across a surface due to the action of wind. This process reshapes snowpacks and landforms, creating features like dunes and sastrugi. The rate and extent of wind drift depend on wind speed, particle size, and surface characteristics.
