Embryo
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005354
A nascent cloud or precipitation particle that has just begun to form through nucleation but has not yet grown to a size where it can fall or be readily observed. These microscopic particles are the initial stage in the development of raindrops, ice crystals, or snowflakes. Their formation depends on supersaturation and the presence of condensation or ice nuclei.
