Equivalent altitude of aerodrome

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005451

The altitude in the International Standard Atmosphere that corresponds to the observed air density at an aerodrome. It is calculated using the actual atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity at the airfield's location. This value, also known as density altitude, is a key factor in determining aircraft performance, as lower air density reduces engine power and aerodynamic lift, requiring longer takeoff runs.
