Gamma distribution
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005869
A continuous probability distribution that is often used to model positive-valued random variables, such as precipitation amounts or wind speeds. It is characterized by two parameters: a shape parameter and a scale parameter. The exponential distribution is a special case of the gamma distribution where the shape parameter is equal to one.
