Glide path

The prescribed descent trajectory that an aircraft follows during an instrument approach to a runway. In meteorology, it can refer to the atmospheric conditions that affect an aircraft's ability to maintain this path, such as wind shear or turbulence. The glide path is typically maintained by an instrument landing system (ILS).
