Glitter

A shimmering or sparkling effect observed on a water surface, caused by the reflection of sunlight or moonlight off numerous small, wind-generated waves. The pattern of glitter appears as a bright, elongated patch that moves with the observer's perspective. It is a common optical phenomenon seen over oceans, lakes, and other bodies of water.
