Line of sight

The direct, unobstructed path between an observer or sensor and a target. In atmospheric remote sensing, the line of sight determines which part of the atmosphere is being sampled by an instrument. Atmospheric conditions like clouds or aerosols can obscure the line of sight, affecting measurement accuracy.
