Cloud-free line of sight

An unobstructed path through the atmosphere from an observer to a target, without any intervening clouds. This condition is necessary for many optical remote sensing applications, astronomical observations, and aviation operations. The probability of a cloud-free line of sight varies significantly with geographic location, season, and time of day.
