Groundwater basin

A hydrogeologic unit defined by the extent of a groundwater system, encompassing the subsurface area where groundwater flows towards a common discharge point. It includes the recharge areas, the aquifer, and the discharge zones. The boundaries of a groundwater basin may not always align with surface water drainage divides.
