Groundwater divide

A boundary in the subsurface that separates groundwater flow in different directions, analogous to a surface water divide. On either side of this divide, groundwater flows towards different discharge areas or basins. Groundwater divides are influenced by topography, geology, and the distribution of hydraulic head within an aquifer system.
