Harbor oscillations
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006167
The resonant sloshing of water within a harbor or bay, often excited by long-period ocean waves such as tsunamis or seiches. These oscillations can amplify wave heights within the harbor, leading to strong currents and potential damage to infrastructure. The natural period of oscillation depends on the harbor's geometry and depth.
