Haze horizon

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006178

A visible boundary in the atmosphere where the concentration of suspended particulate matter is sufficiently high to obscure distant objects. This phenomenon occurs when light scattering by aerosols reduces visibility, creating a distinct line where the sky appears to meet the hazy air. The altitude of the haze horizon can vary depending on atmospheric stability and the distribution of pollutants.
