Heliotropic wind

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006219

A wind that changes direction diurnally, following the apparent movement of the sun, often observed in mountainous regions or coastal areas. This phenomenon is driven by differential heating and cooling of surfaces, leading to localized pressure gradients. Sea breezes and valley breezes are examples of heliotropic winds.
