Hydrodynamic pressure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006314
The pressure within a moving fluid, as distinct from the hydrostatic pressure the same fluid would have at rest. In wave and flow problems it is the part that departs from hydrostatic balance and is found from the velocity field through the Bernoulli equation. In linear wave theory it equals minus the fluid density times the time derivative of the velocity potential.
