Hydrostatics

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006357

The branch of fluid mechanics that investigates the properties and behavior of fluids at rest. It examines the forces exerted by fluids on submerged surfaces and the pressure distribution within stationary fluid bodies. This field is applied in meteorology to understand atmospheric pressure, buoyancy, and the stability of air masses.
