I and Q channels
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006393
The in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) components of a complex signal, used in radar and telecommunications to represent the amplitude and phase information of a modulated waveform. In Doppler weather radar, these channels are processed to extract information about the velocity and intensity of precipitation. The I and Q signals are typically 90 degrees out of phase with each other.
