Inland ice

A large mass of glacial ice that covers an extensive land area, distinct from mountain glaciers or sea ice. These vast ice sheets flow outwards from a central dome, shaping the underlying topography through erosion and deposition. The Greenland Ice Sheet and the Antarctic Ice Sheet are the two primary examples of inland ice formations on Earth.
