Inspectional analysis
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006563
A method of analyzing a set of equations by examining their structure and the relative magnitudes of their terms to simplify them or gain qualitative insights without performing a full mathematical solution. This approach allows meteorologists to identify dominant physical processes in atmospheric models or observed phenomena. It can reveal scaling relationships and approximations that are valid under specific atmospheric conditions.
