Nondimensional equation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007572

An equation in which all variables and parameters have been scaled by characteristic quantities, resulting in terms that are dimensionless. This process simplifies the analysis of physical systems by reducing the number of independent variables and highlighting the relative magnitudes of different physical processes. The Reynolds number is a common nondimensional parameter in fluid dynamics.
